Tasting Notes: Delicate gold colour. Intense aromas of citrus peel mixed with apricot and white peach, with a hint of vanilla that follow through to the palate. Complex and well structured. Precise and sappy texture, with excellent depth and body. Lovely pure fruit flavours. All holding to a long and elegant finish.
The 2 hectares of Premiers Cru vineyard “Les Chenevottes” is located next door to the famous Terroir “Le Montrachet”. The soil is mostly constituted of clay and limestone with the famous stone of Chassagne and is clearly mineral. The vineyards have a peculiar aspect. They are constituted of small blocs entangled into each other. With its East exposure, on the road to Saint Aubin, this plot benefits from the fresh air which conveys to the wine very pure and refreshing aromas.
The Vintage 2014 : After a cool and rainy winter and a frost episode in April, the warm and dry weather in spring was perfect for the flowering. In July and August the weather was more demanding but it became fine again early September with a true Indian Summer which enabled a perfect maturation for the grapes. The harvest took place mid September under a bright sunshine. The white wines develop very pure zesty aromas mixed with floral fragrances. Vinification : after a mild pressing, this wine was vinified and aged for 10 to 14 months in oak casks in their XVth century cellars. Moderate proportion of new oak was used.
Food Match : To be enjoyed with foie gras, seafood, most cheese types.
