Tasting Notes: Light gold in colour with green highlights. Aromas of mayflower, acacia & honeysuckle with hints of verbena, toast and hazelnut. The palate has apple, melon, citrus, nuts, toast and vanilla. Classic toasted vanilla oak melds seamlessly with poised flinty minerality. Age brings in notes of honey or ripe pear. Rounded and often opulent, its attack is instantaneous. On the palate, fleshiness is matched by mellowness, and both are equally persistent.
The family has worked with vines and wine for six generations. Their domaine lies on one of the oldest roads in the village of Santenay-le-Haut at the foot of Trois Croix hill. As you stand glass in hand, you will be delighted by the beauty of the landscape.
Food Match : The opulence and power of this wine, make it an ideal partner for delicate fine white meats such as poultry or veal in sauce. Fish, either in well-spiced couscous or in Asian dishes such as curries or stir-fries, are also well-suited. Salmon, in itself highly aromatic, harmonizes particularly well.
