Tasting Notes: Deep purply red in colour. An elegant and bright example of a perfectly aged Spanish Tempranillo. Dried berry fruits, hints of leather, spice and smoke with toasty vanilla oak. A Spanish red wine from Alavesa region of Rioja made from 100 % Tempranillo grapes, with 48 months oaking, and a further 4 years bottle ageing before release.
The excellent clay-calcareous soil of Rioja Alavesa together with its optimal microclimate, provides the right conditions to grow the most esteemed varieties of wines. Bodegas Ruiz de Vinaspre was founded in 1910 by the grandfather of the current owner, it was located in the centre of Elvillar, parallel to the main square. Wine was produced in that winery until 1978 at this point another winery was built, at the entrance of the town, Where the current portfolio of wines are produced by the current owner and his father.
Food Match : Delicious on it's own, especially at the end of the night. Good with most red meats, hard mature cheeses
