Tasting Notes: One of those reds you can serve slightly cool - perfect summer drinking. This is a light, dry Beaujolais with plenty of juicy berry fruit flavours - sweet cherry and raspberry. Rich and full on palate with a delicious lingering finish. The ripe summer fruit flavours excel with delicatessen meats. From a small, local producer, an authentic Beaujolais.
The Perrin family have been making wine for four centuries at their rural idyll near Ternand in southern Beaujolais. Their vineyards which were a scene of a medieval conflict involving 1000 men (Milhomme), spread out in a south-facing amphitheatre of flaking granite. Bernard Perrin remains modest despite his wines often being voted 'Best of the Vintage'.
