A fruit forward, rich, complex Meursault

More Info

Tasting Notes: Pale gold in colour. Aromas of toasted brioche, vanilla and peach that follow through to the palate - ripe stone fruits leading to a long, elegant and refreshing finish. Round, buttery and rich in flavour. Perfect for drinking now, but has excellent aging potential.

This Meursault is vinified in oak, of which 20-25% is new oak and then aged for between 10-18 months, depending on the year. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in barrel.

A family estate for several generations (the Meursault estate's family tree goes back to 1789).

In 1974 Christian took over his parents' estate, with vines mainly in Meursault, and some of his father-in-law's vines in Savigny lès Beaune. His son, Christophe, joined him in 1995. Together they expanded the estate with plots in Meursault, Savigny lès Beaune, Chorey lès Beaune and Beaune. Today Christophe manages the estate, now totalling 9 hectares.

Reds and wines are almost evenly balanced. The vines are some 30 years old on average.

They think it important for the wines to respect their terroir and year.

This begins by a lot of work in the vineyard, to harvest healthy, ripe grapes.
The vines are worked combining the greatest possible respect for traditions with environmentally-friendly disease control.

their wines are delicate, precise wines and as natural as they can be.
Vinification and ageing are adapted to each vintage.

Food Match :  Perfect for richer, creamier sauces, the wine will cut through the fattiness for perfect balance.
