Tasting Notes:
Ripasso Valpolicella are like baby-Amarone, using some of the same raisin-dried grapes to add a dollop of depth to the vibrant dark cherry flavours. Dry and full bodied with cherry, cranberry, blackberry and subtle spice. A deliciously full, textured palate. The lingering finish has raisins and vanilla with hints of smoke. A minimum of 12 months aging in oak.
In March, Valpolicella wine is passed over the skins remaining from the production of Amarone using the 'ripasso' technique, which increases the alcohol, body and perfumes of the wine. Aged in oak for a minimum of a year.
