Tasting Notes: An excellent vintage in the Southern Rhone. Deep, intense dark red colour. Aromas of ripe black cherry with hints of vanilla and fennel. The palate is full-bodied with a delicious creamy-texture displaying black cherry, bitter lack chocolate and vanilla notes and hints of cedar. The finish is rich, powerful and plush showing off mocha and brown sugar in a velvety finish.
Peak 10 to 15 years. Served at 16 to 18°C
The Vignobles de la Serriere vineyard is located in the north of the appellation, between the villages of Courthezon, Orange and Chateauneuf-du-Pape on alluvial terraces composed of rounded pebbles mixed with sandy red clay. Certified High Environmental Value – respect and preservation of the biodiversity, protection of the vineyard by Biocontrol methods. De-stemming of the grapes, maceration for a minimum of 20 days. Aged in French oak barrels between 6 to 12 months.
Food Match : Perfect with a slow roast shoulder of lamb with fresh herbs, grilled beef or with a summer fruit salad of strawberries.
