Tasting Notes: A clear, intense red colour. Aromas of black and red currant, leafy hints. The wine is youthful and fresh in the mouth, with flavours of pepper
and liquorice. Reserve de Fleur is a modern style unoaked Cotes du Rhone that reflects its origins in the warm southern Rhone valley, near Avignon, in France.
This youthful, fresh wine is a blend of Syrah, complimented by Grenache. It is unoaked to maximise the ripe, clean, bright fruit flavours, which are backed up by the structure of delicate tannins.
Low temperature spontaneous fermentation (no cultured yeasts), around 15 days followed by light pressing, which gives the wine fruitiness and elegance. No sulphur is used on the grapes or in fermentation, no acidification, no sugar addition. Natural malolactic fermentation. No fining, one racking only and 'small' filtration when bottling early, to preserve character, texture and flavour.
Les Vignerons d'Estezargues is a small, high quality co-operative founded in 1965 in the Gard department, 20km west of Avignon. There are 25 members, of which 50% are organically certified.
