More Info
Tasting Notes: Deep garnet in colour, it is packed with complex flavours of dried red fruits such as prunes and with overtones of truffles in the bouquet, it is a gentle and well fruited wine on the palate with redcurrant, blueberry, cherry, chocolate, vanilla and plum flavours with notes of hazelnut. Gently oaked. This is a true Pomerol that will delight all lovers of fine Bordeaux at an exceptional price.
From the finest parcels of Pomerol and selected by Ronan Laborde, owner of Chateau Clinet, the wine is made with the same care and attention to detail as the main wine. It is made up of wines created from 3 different terroirs and includes 30% of wine from the Chateau itself. (95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc and aged for 12 months in second fill French oak barrels, this is a magnificent wine and with a great price/quality rapport.
The Label was designed by Gordon Hopkins, a famous American artist whose work finds its strength in a unique technique of setting bold colours in layers of oil bars and paint. He visited Clinet in the summer of 2017 and after lunch at the Chateau strolled the Pomerol vineyards which were criss-crossed by country lanes which he took as the inspiration for this artwork.
