Tasting Notes: Deep dark red in colour with lovely violets hints. Intense dark fruit aromas of red currant and raspberries. The palate has dark, ripe redcurrant & raspberries with nuances of black pepper and fresh mint, spiced background notes of vanilla developed from time spent in American oak. Elegant, well integrated tannins give a velvety mouthfeel leading to a long, persistent finish.
Ancellotta is a little known grape, originally from Italy where it is grown and used in Lambrusco and other blends. The smaller blue grapes are known for their depth of colour, fruitiness - blueberry, plum and blackberry, and sweet spice or 'baking spice'. Malbec grape is rich, dark and juicy, adding Ancellotta brings a sweet spiciness to the wine making it a very moreish, easy drinking Malbec blend.
Long hot sunny days and cold nights with cooling breezes from the Andes to slow the over night ripening and extend the growing season. Sandy, stony soil makes the vines work harder, producing highly concentrated fruit.
