Tasting Notes: Aromas of floral notes. The palate is a silky and smooth, well integrated tannins that carry the soft berry fruit flavours to a deliciously long, yet delicate finish. Hints of minerality keep the wine fresh.
Why Akemi for a Spanish Rioja? Ontanon family collaborated with Michelin star chef Felix Jimenez to create a wine for his Japanese menu.
Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano. Careful selection of fruit from the Ontañón family vineyards in Rioja, Spain. All of the vineyards are located on the edge of the area of cultivation and have very limited yields as they are cup pruned and have an average age of 35 years. Detailed survey of the character of each soil and the aromatic profiles of different varieties to fine-tune the final blend.
In Japanese, "akemi" means clarity and beauty.
