Tasting Notes: Vivacious ruby red in colour, developing to rich garnet through aging. The wine has an excellent persistence and consistency, made evident by the formation of the "larches" or "legs" that form and descend slowly on the inner wall of the glass.
Intense aromas - earthy with hints of sweet violet and red fruits, that linger persistently. a beautifully balanced palate has red fruit flavours, is dry, rounded and warming. Smooth and well structured. A wine suitable for aging - but drinking well now too.

Fermentation and maceration in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 18 days. Aged in oak barrels for 18months with a further 6 months aging in the bottle.
Terre di Melazzano was founded in 1959 by Piero Giulio Falciani, who came from a family of winemakers and was mesmerised by the breath taking surroundings and 'terroir' at Melazzano, especially adapt for growing grapes. He bought the estate and planted the first vines, then began renovating the farmhouses and built the winery. Piero's son Andrea joined him, followed by grand-daughter Chiara. Chiara's husband, another Andrea joined the business. So, Terre di Melazzano organic wine farm counts on three family members - two Andreas and Chiara - to continue winemaking traditions while innovating year after year on their Organic Wine Farm.
